Save Time and Money with Munch's Vendor-Managed Inventory Program
When a suburban Chicago contractor needed to serve homeowners faster and more efficiently, company leaders turned to Munch’s Supply’s VMI program.
Cahill Heating, Cooling, Electric, Plumbing & Sewer signed on for Munch’s Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) program, allowing it to keep parts and equipment in its two suburban warehouses – even though the company hasn’t paid for them yet.
Through the VMI program, Munch’s stocks commonly used products with their customers and only charges them once it has been pulled from their inventory. For contractors such as Cahill, having an on-site shop translates into faster service, better turnaround times – and happier customers.
”VMI has been an invaluable asset for our team – operationally, with quicker turnaround times for repairs and replacements, but also from a cash‑flow perspective,” said co-owner Brandon Delfino.
Vendor Managed Inventory streamlines the entire supply‑chain process by shifting responsibility for monitoring and restocking materials to the vendor.
Now, Munch’s oversees stock levels and replenishes materials directly at Cahill’s Lake Bluff, Illinois warehouse. With essential items consistently on hand, the team can move swiftly, often completing repairs the same day a homeowner calls.
For Cahill, that means fewer backorders, less downtime and a more organized workflow. For homeowners, the advantages are even more clear: faster responses, fewer follow‑up visits and quicker restoration of vital plumbing and sewer systems.
”The biggest winner in this partnership is our customer,” said Andy Visconi, Director of Plumbing & Sewer Services. “When a homeowner has a plumbing or sewer issue, time matters. With Munch’s managing our inventory locally, our technicians have immediate access to the parts they need.”
